Advion cockroach gel bait targets cockroaches differently than other insecticides do. For one, it comes in an easy-to-use tube for easy application; there's no need for mixing or spraying equipment. Secondly, it contains an oxadiazine known as indoxacarb as the active ingredient. Some insecticides contain pyrethroids, which target the insects on contact and provide immediate knockdown. However, they don't offer residual control or help to eliminate colonies. Advion does the opposite by delaying death long enough for the pests to infect their own kind.
Indoxacarb not only works after the pest ingests the active ingredient but also a second and a third time. In fact, it's one of the only chemicals that continues to work after it's been ingested and passed on to another insect. Pest management professionals call it the horizontal transfer effect, whereby a poisoned insect passes on the chemical to others through contact. After the insect consumes the bait, it goes back to the nest and transfers the chemical to other pests. Indoxacarb infects the other members in a few different ways:
This chemical ingredient remains active and just as effective even after it has been transferred twice. One lethal dose can kill as many as three generations of cockroaches and eliminate a nest more quickly compared to other insecticide baits.
Indoxacarb works by blocking sodium channels in the roach's nerves. The result is severe dehydration and death.
Some baits are created primarily for use indoors. Advion roach gel bait works indoors and outdoors, providing total roach control in a variety of settings. It can be used in residential areas such as houses, apartments and retirement homes. It can also be used in commercial spaces such as restaurants, supermarkets and retail stores. It's also labeled for use in hospitals and other sensitive areas, including nursing homes and schools.
Roaches not only infest interior buildings but also transport vehicles carrying merchandise and food items. Use this roach bait gel in trains, ships, trucks and aircraft to eliminate and to control cockroach populations. Other common places for using Advion cockroach gel bait include:
Apply three to five spots of Advion gel every 10 feet along baseboards and other areas where the roaches travel. It should also be applied in cracks, crevices and voids, including openings around plumbing pipes, vents and wire entryways to target the roaches where they nest, hide and enter or exit the building.
Advion cockroach gel bait also works outdoors and can be used along perimeter foundations and in places where the pests are entering the structure. Apply the bait in conspicuous areas to avoid contact with people and animals. If it's applied outdoors, it's a good idea to use bait plate stations to protect the bait from exposure to the elements and to keep it fresh for longer periods.
One poisoned roach can infect up to 40 roaches, making Advion an effective treatment option for light and heavy infestations. Though it can be used with other baits, it should not be applied to areas that have been sprayed with residual insecticides. Use Advion gel bait in and around the following exterior areas for the best results:
Advion cockroach gel bait is labeled for roach control. The active ingredient affects many different species, from German and American to Asian and brown-banded. It successfully kills several generations and provides total roach prevention and control. Although it's labeled as a roach bait, the ingredient indoxacarb works effectively on other nontarget insects such as ants and mole crickets. In fact, placing the bait indoors and outdoors may provide pest control for other nuisance insects, including moth larvae and other crawling insects. An infected pest may contaminate up to 40 different insects by way of contact.
One Advion bait tube contains up to 60 gel placements in the target area. Use up to five spots every 10 feet to control large infestations and up to three spots for lighter populations. Conduct a thorough inspection of the area before applying the bait.
Roach infestations will only get worse if the pests are allowed to continue breeding uninterrupted. They can shut down businesses and overtake homes within a year. Advion roach bait gel works differently than other insecticides, targeting the pests with a powerful yet slow-acting poison. It delays death long enough for one roach to infect 40 other members. The chemical ingredient causes dehydration and death, eliminating an entire social colony in weeks. Advion can be used indoors and outdoors and provide complete roach control for residential and commercial sectors. Whether it's a few roaches or a heavy infestation, Advion roach bait gel makes quick work of these disease-carrying insects.
