Overture 35 WP Insecticide

Usually Ships in 1-2 days
Overture insecticide combats thrips that have developed a resistance to other pesticides. It contains pyridalyl, an organic compound that inhibits protein synthesis in insect cells. Though it kills many thrips species, including the resistant western flower thrips, it also works on harmful larvae of the Lepidoptera species such as certain butterflies and moths. However, Overture is safer to use around natural enemies and beneficial insects, such as the honeybee, than other chemical pesticides. When thrips or moth larvae threaten your greenhouse or plant nursery, treat the infestation with Overture insecticide.

How Overture 35 WP Insecticide Works

Overture 35 WP Insecticide active ingredient Pyridalyl affects and damages an insect's cellular macromolecules, e.g., proteins. It also leads to advanced proteasome activity, increased protein degradation and cell death. Therefore, Overture 35 WP Insecticide provides an effective treatment for harmful thrips and other invasive species that attack and feed on greenhouse trees and ornamentals. It works by contact and ingestion and provides optimal control in a well-maintained area.

Where to Use Overture 35 WP Insecticide

Overture 35 WP Insecticide is approved for enclosed greenhouse use and applies as a wettable powder to flowers and foliage crops. Use it to combat thrips and larvae on ground covers, ornamental trees and nonbearing fruit and nut trees. You should not use Overture on outdoor crops and only repeat use as needed. Because Overture provides potent translaminar activity, it penetrates the leaves and affects immature and adult pests that are feeding on the lower leaf surfaces.

Overture 34 WP Insecticide Target Pests

Despite its powerful formula, Overture 34 Wp Insecticide does not significantly impact natural predatory bugs such as lacewings and ladybird beetles. Though Overture targets, treats and controls thrips, it also affects many other insects in the greenhouse, such as:

  • Azalea caterpillars
  • Beet armyworms
  • Gypsy moths
  • Spruce budworms
  • Tent caterpillars
  • Tomato hornworms
  • Yellow-striped armyworms
