How Taurus SC Insecticide Works

Taurus SC Termiticide Insecticide has the active ingredient fipronil that works similarly to other termiticides such as Termidor SC and Termidor Foam. It contains 9.1 percent fipronil, the active ingredient that's used in various liquid and foam insecticides. It attacks the target pest's central nervous system and slowly kills the insect over time. Some insecticides work on contact, eliminating the pest within a few minutes. Taurus does the opposite by giving the pest enough time to transfer the active ingredient back to the nest where it infects other members.

Though fipronil is a slow-acting poison, it starts to work at the moment of contact or ingestion. It causes hyperexcitation in the insect's muscles, preventing it from performing normal functions like feeding. After some time, the insect becomes paralyzed and dies. If the infected pest interacts with other members beforehand, they will also become infected and experience the same deadly fate.

Where to Use Taurus SC Termiticide

Taurus SC Termiticide is labeled for outdoor use only. However, it can be used as a spot treatment indoors to target various termites in wall voids. It's important to read the directions before applying Taurus indoors. If in doubt, refer to the label.

Use this effective insecticide outdoors where termites and other insects invade structures such as homes and businesses. It can be used to treat termites and carpenter ants on wooden objects such as fence posts, decks, furniture and utility poles. Use it as a void treatment to kill termite colonies in homes, offices and industrial areas like warehouses.

Apply it in exterior cracks, holes and crevices in various buildings such as apartments, retail shops and service centers. It protects wood siding from insect damage and prevents termites from infiltrating foundation slabs in preconstruction. It can also be applied in the spaces where telephone and cable wires enter a building.
