BotaniGard 22WP Biological Insecticide is a mycoinsecticide and contains Beauveria bassiana strain GHA, a naturally occurring fungus. After treating an infested area, the spores infect the pests' through their skin, attacking it with self-producing enzymes. Once the fungus penetrates the skin, it continues to grow inside the insects' bodies, resulting in death. You can monitor the pest death visually as the insect changes colors to pink or brown after infection. In most cases, the dead pest will develop a white fungal growth over its body. However, you don't have to see this growth to know that the product has worked successfully.
