How Merit 2F Insecticide Works

Merit 2F insecticide contains the active ingredient imidacloprid, a potent substance that affects an insect's nervous system. Once it's sprayed on the target area, the ingredient penetrates the leaves and the stems and works its way throughout the plant. An insect takes in the active ingredient as it feeds. Afterward, the ingredient prevents the pest from feeding and producing and then kills the insect as a result. Merit 2F offers long-lasting residual control and prevents further infestations long after the first application.

Where to Use Merit 2F Insecticide

Use Merit 2F insecticide where pests have targeted grass, sod and ornamental plants. Because imidacloprid is safe when it's used as directed, it can be applied indoors or outdoors to kill pest insects such as June beetles and whiteflies. Some of the most common areas on which to use Merit 2F include:

  • Athletic fields
  • Cemeteries
  • Commercial landscapes
  • Fruit and nut trees (noncommercial)
  • Golf courses
  • Interior plants
  • Ornamental gardens
  • Residential lawns

Merit 2F Insecticide Target Pests

Merit 2F insecticide targets the most stubborn plant-feeding insects in commercial, industrial and residential areas. Though it doesn't provide immediate knockdown, it does stay within a plant's system for months. It works on soil-inhibiting and leaf-feeding pests and provides quick control. Some of the most common target pests include:

  • Aphids
  • Beetles
  • Billbugs
  • Chinch bugs
  • Crane flies
  • Cutworms
  • Green June beetles
  • Mealybugs
  • Mole crickets
  • Sawflies
  • Thrips
  • Whiteflies

Tips for Using Merit 2F Insecticide

  • Do not use Merit 2F on commercial fruit and nut trees.
  • Do not use in an irrigation system.
  • Apply before eggs hatch for optimal results.
  • Add nitrogen-enriched fertilizer to the mixture for enhanced uptake.
  • Use Merit 2F indoors and outdoors to target leaf insects.

Eliminate Plant-Eating Pests With Merit 2F Insecticide

With Merit 2F insecticide, it's possible to target and to prevent insect infestations on lawns, sod farms and other grassy areas. It can also keep pests off ornamental plants inside businesses as well as pristine landscaping around airports and shopping complexes. Merit 2F eliminates the most destructive plant-eating and soil-dwelling insects such as thrips and chinch bugs. It applies easily as a spray and works systemically throughout the plant. It goes to work immediately once it enters a pest's digestive system and stops infestations from lingering long after it's been applied on both indoor and outdoor areas.
